Current Vacancies

Ecologist

We are looking for an ecologist or senior ecologist to join our growing team. The role will be a work from home position but there will be daily online contact and regular meet-ups with rest of the team. There will also be lots of support to progress within the company and salary is dependent on experience.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Ecology or a relevant discipline
  • Experience in protected species surveying
  • Excellent habitat identification and wildlife id skills
  • Experience of completing BNG assessments
  • Associate or Full CIEEM membership
  • Outstanding writing capabilities
  • A bat licence (Class 1 or 2) is a huge advantage
  • Full, UK driving licence

Salary

£25000 + per annum. With regular pay reviews and a bonus scheme.

Location

The role is based in the south-west to cover projects in Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Hampshire and occasionally further afield.

Subcontractor Ecologist

Are you a passionate ecologist seeking opportunities to make a significant impact on environmental projects? We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Subcontractor Ecologist to join our team at Crossman Ecology. As a subcontractor, you will collaborate with our experienced team of environmental professionals and contribute to a wide range of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ecological surveys, including habitat assessments, species identification, and data collection.
  • Analyse survey results and prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and other documentation.
  • Assist in the development of ecological management plans and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on ecological issues during project planning and execution.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented ecological mitigation measures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant environmental policies, regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in conducting ecological surveys and assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of local flora and fauna species, their habitats, and conservation issues.
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
